With a GRAMMY® Award\, recognition at #1 on Guitar World’s „Top 20 Best Guitarists of the Decade\,„ and 40 million units sold between Creed\, Alter Bridge\, and his namesake solo band Tremonti\, he maintains a breakneck pace in terms of both studio output and live shows. Once again\, he directly channels this workmanlike focus\, rigid discipline\, and relentless drive into Tremonti’s fifth full-length offering\, Marching In Time [Napalm Records]\, fusing uncompromising thrash-induced fret fireworks\, wrecking ball grooves\, and searing melodies all at once to present a definitive sonic statement. \n“Anytime we do an album\, I want people to know we didn’t just rest on our laurels and do the same old thing\,” he exclaims. “We push ourselves and challenge ourselves when it comes to songwriting\, lyrics\, guitar\, and every other instrument. We try to come out guns blazing. That’s one of the most important things to me.” \nTremonti drastically raised the bar with the 2018 conceptual opus and accompanying novel A Dying Machine. It bowed in the Top 3 of the Billboard Top Indie Albums Chart and marked the group’s third Top 5 debut on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart. It received the highest praise of the band’s career to date. Beyond acclaim from Consequence of Sound\, Metal Hammer\, Brave Words\, and more\, LoudWire crowned it “their best album yet.” It brought the group’s total stream tally past the 100 million mark as well. Beyond packing headline shows\, they also supported Iron Maiden on the road\, rounding out a banner run. \nAs the Global Pandemic consumed 2020\, he started to write\, inviting co-guitarist Eric Friedman to Florida for preliminary sessions. However\, he didn’t want to focus on the trials and tribulations of the year. \n“At first\, I asked myself\, ‘Do I want to make a continuation of A Dying Machine and do another concept record?’\,” he recalls. “I decided against it. I wanted to do something different this time. During the whole lockdown\, I went through some moments where I was very uninspired. We moved in the middle of it\, so I’d go paint my house or do other work. I was depressed like the rest of the world was\, so I didn’t sit down with the guitar as much. However\, I wasn’t going to just make an album about all of that. I tried to grab the best ideas and craft a really diverse body of work.” \nWorking with longtime producer and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette\, Eric contributed guitars\, while Ryan Bennett played drums and Tanner Keegan held down bass duties. Now\, Tremonti introduces the album with the eerily catchy “If Not For You.” Airy distortion gives way to deft shredding and a stomping rhythm as Mark warns\, “So run now while you can\, I will follow for now until the end.” \n“It was one of my favorite tunes from the get-go\,” he explains. “At first listen\, you might think it’s about someone who loves another person. In my brain\, it’s clearly about being overly obsessed and overzealous in their care—like a stalker.” \nHammering distortion introduces Marching In Time with “A World Away.” The syncopated percussion dissolves into a palm-muted speed metal gallop broken up only by a haunting harmonic.  Between soaring hooks\, the finger-picked bridge adds another dynamic altogether. \n“You promise yourself you’re not going to get stuck in some sort of vicious cycle where you feel no love\,” he elaborates. “You’re urging yourself to do better and get out\, but you’re just trapped. That’s the feeling of ‘A World Away’.” \nClean guitar curls around the drums on the blistering “Under The Sun.” It builds towards an apocalyptically catchy chorus. \n“It’s a different vibe\,” he goes on. “I pictured a civilization crying out to God like\, ‘What have you done to us? Spare us. Help us through this dark time’.” \nAs something of a sister song to “Under The Sun\,” the finale and title track “Marching In Time” stands out as the most epic composition in the Tremonti discography thus far. Brushing up against the eight-minute mark\, its origins can be traced back to a guitar clinic Mark hosted on tour where he recorded the intro on Garage Band in front of attendees. He delivers an affirmation and pleads\, “Don’t let this cold world change you.” \n“I love doing these clinics\, and it’s cool that the most important song on this record was born that way\,” he states. “In terms of the subject matter\, my baby girl was just born. I’ve got a three-month-old daughter now. When the world was a mess and it was looking pretty bleak\, I thought of this concept. I needed to tell my kids\, ‘Do not let this world control you. Don’t let it bring you down. Stay strong and be the person I know you can be’. It’s like some futuristic father telling his daughter and son to stay on the path even though everything is falling apart.” \nIn the end\, Tremonti never stops forging ahead no matter what. \n“I’m always going to keep going and picking up different elements along the way\,” he leaves off. “I’m never going to put out the same thing. I just can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear this.” \n

Eleven of the album’s twelve songs were either co-written or solely composed by the multi-talented\, multi-faceted artist. The one non-original\, a funk infused cover of Bob Dylan’s “Meet Me in the Morning\,” fuses Dylan’s lyric in a cataclysmic clash with the sensibilities of the Meters and the hurricane force of Howlin’ Wolf and Tina Turner at their rawest. It simply has to be heard to be believed.\n\nProduced by Darcy Yates and Renan Yildizdogan\, The Reckless One demonstrably builds on the strengths of Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar’s last album. Martin’s lyrics\, set to a panoply of intoxicating\, ear worm melodies\, tend to focus on the vicissitudes of love: desire\, disappointment and\, when everything works out\, emotional and sexual satisfaction. The album’s twelve tracks cover a lot of ground\, including 12/8 gospel infused soul ballads such as “I’ve Got a Feeling” and “Better to Have Never\,” funk inflected tracks like “Love is All Around\,” stomping four-on-the-floor dance numbers epitomized by “Don’t Have To Be” and the Wall of Sound influenced “Sacrifice.” Over the course of the album the discerning listener will detect a panoply of influences ranging from Mavis Staples\, Sharon Jones and Otis Redding to Booker T. and the MG’s and the Memphis Horns. One track\, “All That I Am\,” is even slightly reminiscent of early 70s Emotions.\n\nMartin’s first recording was an EP entitled Fade\, issued in 2004. A year later she moved to Toronto and in 2008 released her debut full length album\, Back Home. The eponymously titled Samantha Martin & The Haggard followed in 2012 before Martin decided to form the gospel and soul-based Delta Sugar.\n\nSamantha Martin & Delta Sugar’s debut release\, 2015’s Send the Nightingale\, was a stripped-down affair consisting of Martin\, her two co-singers\, and two guitars. For 2018’s Run to Me\, Martin elected to record her emotionally wrought material with an expanded band\, augmenting the core of Delta Sugar’s gospel-infused harmonies with a full rhythm section\, piano\, organ and an ever-so-soulful horn section. The Reckless One continues in the same trajectory\, further expanding the palate of sounds with vibes\, mellotron\, Wurlitzer\, Hammond and Farfisa organs plus strings.\n\nSend the Nightingale was a stunning achievement which garnered four Maple Blues nominations in 2016\, was regularly featured on the CBC\, topped the blues charts on Stingray radio and propelled the group onto the stages of all the major Canadian festivals and clubs coast to coast. Subsequent to the album’s release\, Martin was nominated three years in a row as Female Vocalist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards. Continuing to build on the group’s steam rolling momentum\, in 2019 Run To Me garnered another four Maples Blues nominations\, a Juno nomination (Canada’s Grammy Awards) and paved the way for Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar’s assault on European club and concert stages. Starting with a blitzkrieg attack consisting of 42 club dates in six weeks in early 2019\, three tours and a year later the group was being booked at a number of major European festivals.\n\nMartin is the lead singer\, songwriter and focal point of the group. A dynamic front woman\, she possesses a stunning voice that is capable of summoning up tidal waves of spine-tingling emotion in one instance while delicately bringing out the nuances of a gut-wrenching lyric in the next. DESCRIPTION:Nachholtermin für die Veranstaltung vom 20.06.21. \nALEX HENRY FOSTER and the long shadows\n\nALEX HENRY FOSTER (AHF; Foster) ist ein kanadischer Musiker\, Singer-Songwriter\, Autor\, Produzent und Komponist\, bekannt als Frontmann der Juno Awards-nominierten Post-Rock / Noise Band Your Favorite Enemies (YFE). Mit seiner Band “the long shadows” kreiert er auf der Bühne intensive und brachiale Soundwelten in Kombination mit tiefgehenden Texten\, die jeden in ihren Bann ziehen.\n\nFOSTER ist nicht nur ein ausdruckstarker Performer\, sondern auch ein leidenschaftlicher Menschenrechtsverteidiger. In den letzten zehn Jahren war er sehr aktiv und setzte sich mit Rassismus\, der Verbreitung von Straßenbanden – unter denen er seine Teenagerzeit verbrachte –\, dem Wiederaufleben von Populismus und Identitätsextremismus auseinander. In diesem Zuge schloss er sich für mehrere Kampagnen mit Amnesty International zusammen. 2004 gründete er die gemeinnützige Gruppe Rock N Rights\, machte auf das Schicksal von Kindersoldaten aufmerkam\, rief nach dem japanischen Tsunami 2011 “The Hope Project” ins Leben und war jüngst beteiligt\, Druck auf die kanadischen Behörden aufzubauen\, bezüglich des saudischen Bloggers Raif Badawi.\n\nFOSTER ist auch bekannt als Vorreiter einer neuen Generation unabhängiger Künstler-Entrepreneurs\, da er nicht nur\, gemeinsam mit seinem Bandkollegen Jeff Beaulieu\, Eigentümer des angesehenen Labels „Hopeful Tragedy Records“ ist\, sondern auch Mitbegründer des “Upper Room Studio” in einer ehemaligen katholischen Kirche\, die in einen Multimedia-Komplex verwandelt wurde. AHF gründete außerdem die konzeptionelle Kreativgruppe “The Fabrik”\, aus der mehrere Modekollektionen sowie eine spezielle Schmucklinie\, Red Crown Crane\, in Zusammenarbeit mit der Keyboarderin und Kunstdesignerin Miss Isabel des YFE hervorgegangen sind.\n\nAm 9. November 2018 veröffentlichte ALEX HENRY FOSTER ein erstes Solo-Musikprojekt\, einen intimen Gedichtessay über die Suche nach Frieden\, Glauben und Hoffnung durch den Kontext von Trauer\, Depression und Not. “Windows in the Sky” ist das erste Album\, das im Rahmen einer neuen Partnerschaft zwischen seinem Label Hopeful Tragedy Records und Sony Music Entertainment / The Orchard veröffentlicht wurde. In der ersten Woche nach dem Release landete es bereits auf Platz 3 der kanadischen Billboard Charts\, direkt hinter Muse und Imagine Dragons. Über 15.000 Alben wurden bereits verkauft und so hielt sich “Windows in the Sky” später mehrere Wochen sogar auf Platz 1 der Charts.\n\nDie sympathischen Musiker begeisterten schon auf dem „FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE JAZZ DE MONTRÉAL” mit einem grandiosen Konzert. Tour 2022\nDie Spannung steigt: Nur noch wenige Stunden bis zur feierlichen Proklamation des Prinzenpaares der KG Raderdolle Spritköpp von 1493 e.V. – ohne Zweifel DAS gesellschaftliche Highlight des Jahres im Dorf. Und zum ersten Mal hat der kleine Verein weder Kosten noch Mühen gescheut\, dafür eine ganz große Nummer aus dem Kölner Karneval zu verpflichten. Da darf man natürlich nichts dem Zufall überlassen und deshalb überwacht der Sitzungspräsident höchstpersönlich die letzten Vorbereitungen. Bei ein paar Stützbier sitzt er im Vereinslokal und passt auf\, dass alles klappt – Karneval darf man schließlich nicht den Amateuren überlassen! Und weil der Sitzungspräsident sich selbst noch immer am liebsten reden hört\, kommt er dabei schnell vom Hölzchen aufs Stöckchen. Klar\, dass da kein Thema vor ihm sicher ist – eben ganz nach seinem Motto: Von nix ne Ahnung\, aber zu allem ne Meinung! \nIm rheinischen Karneval ist Volker Weininger als „Der Sitzungspräsident“ der ungekrönte König im 0\,2-Liter-Sprint. Er gehört dort mittlerweile zu den gefragtesten Rednern und ist regelmäßiger Gast bei den großen Fernsehsitzungen. Jetzt geht er mit seinem leicht angesäuselten Alter Ego auf die Langstrecke und gönnt seiner Paraderolle mit Solo! endlich einen ganzen Abend\, denn es gibt einfach viel zu viel\, was noch nicht erzählt worden ist. Und wenn sich der Sitzungspräsident auf der Bühne zügig aber ohne Hast ans Kölschglas macht\, dann wird ganz schnell klar: Hier steht der lebende Beweis dafür\, dass man auch mit Alkohol lustig sein kann! Volker Weininger hat seit 2009 mehrere preisgekrönte Kabarettprogramme auf die Bühne gebracht. Das Magazin Guitar World wählte ihn unter die „100 besten Gitarristen aller Zeiten“\, 2016 verlieh ihm der britische Metal Hammer die sonst nur an ausgewählte Legenden wie Slash und Jimmy Page vergebene Ehrung „Riff Lord“. Mit seiner dem Grunge zuzurechnenden\, aber ebenso mit Metal liebäugelnden Band Alice In Chains wurde er bislang elfmal für einen Grammy nominiert und konnte weltweit rund 30 Millionen Tonträger absetzen. Nach einer fast 20 Jahre währenden Pause als Solokünstler erschien im vergangenen Herbst sein drittes Album „Brighten“\, das weithin als sein bislang stärkster Alleingang rezipiert wurde. Im Zuge dieser Veröffentlichung kommt Jerry Cantrell samt Begleitband auf Europatournee\, in deren Rahmen er zwischen dem 25. Juni und 5. Juli auch drei Deutschlandkonzerte in Köln\, Berlin und Hamburg spielen wird.\n\nEine der frühesten bekannten Anekdoten über Jerry Cantrell besagt\, dass er im Alter von sechs Jahren in das Poesiealbum eines Freundes unter dem Stichpunkt „I want to become…“ den Begriff „Rockstar“ eintrug. Sicher\, davon träumen viele Kinder\, aber bei Cantrell sah es nicht gerade danach aus – seine problematischen Familienverhältnisse ließen nicht erwarten\, dass aus ihm einer der wichtigsten Gitarristen seiner Generation werden könnte. Sein Vater war Vietnam-Veteran und dermaßen traumatisiert\, dass er die Familie nach seiner Heimkehr verließ. Groß gezogen wurde Jerry Cantrell von seiner Mutter und Großmutter\, die beide wiederum innerhalb eines Jahres an Krebs verstarben\, als er noch ein Teenager war. Erst zwei Jahre zuvor\, im Alter von 17 und damit reichlich spät\, hatte er genug Geld zusammengespart\, um sich seine erste E-Gitarre zu kaufen. Bis dahin hatte er lediglich auf der Akustik-Klampfe eines Freundes seiner Mutter gespielt\, der sein Talent als erster entdeckte und ihn dazu animierte\, wirklich alles auf die „Rockstar“-Karte zu setzen.\n\nEs brauchte noch einige erfolglose Bands und Jahre voller erbärmlicher Nebenjobs\, bis sein Kindheitstraum mit Alice In Chains Realität werden sollte: Im Zuge der großen Grunge-Explosion stieg die Gruppe Anfang der 90er-Jahre weltweit neben Nirvana\, Soundgarden und Pearl Jam zur vierten großen Kraft des Grunge auf. Anders als bei den drei anderen Bands lag der Schwerpunkt von Alice In Chains nicht nur beim Alternative Rock\, sondern in gleichem Maße im klassischen Metal. Damit fand die Band noch einmal eine ganz neue Hörerschaft für diese letzte große Revolution der Rockmusik und verlieh Alice In Chains eine bemerkenswerte Sonderrolle. Der Rest dieser legendären Formation ist Geschichte: Nach fünf atemberaubend erfolgreichen Jahren geriet die Band aufgrund der schweren Heroinsucht ihres kongenialen Sängers Layne Staley in eine Art Schockstarre; von 1996 bis 2002 war die Band dazu gezwungen\, nahezu inaktiv zu sein\, bis Staley letztlich an einer Überdosis verstarb. Erst ein Jahrzehnt nach ihrem letzten Konzert standen Alice In Chains 2006 wieder als Band auf einer Konzertbühne; anfangs mit wechselnden Leadsängern\, ab 2007 mit dem neuen festen Frontmann William DuVall\, mit dem die Band seither drei weitere Alben erfolgreich veröffentlichte.\n\nDa Cantrell neben seinem Genius als Gitarrist auch stets der Hauptsongwriter und zweite Vokalist von Alice In Chains war und ist\, begriff er sich selbst nie als Solokünstler. So beschrieb er seine ersten beiden Soloalben als „Zeitvertreib“ („Boggy Depot“ von 1998) und als „notwendiger Abschied von Layne“ („Degradation Trip“ von 2002). Von daher war es auch nicht verwunderlich\, dass fast zwei Jahrzehnte vergehen sollten bis zu seinem nächsten\, aktuellen Solowerk „Brighten“. Es sei\, so Cantrell\, der erste Alleingang\, der nicht aus einer Notwendigkeit\, sondern aus der puren Lust darauf entstanden ist – und zudem aufgrund von fertigen Songs\, die in ihrem Stil nicht zu Alice In Chains passen. Kritiker bemerkten entsprechend\, dass der typische Alice In Chains-Fan sicher Gefallen an „Brighten“ finden werde\, dass er sich aber zugleich auf echte Überraschungen einstellen solle. Dies sieht man etwa daran\, dass die Platte mit einem Cover des Elton John-Klassikers „Goodbye“ endet.

DESCRIPTION:KLAN kommt zu uns in die Kantine! \n\nACHTUNG: Nachholtermin: Das Konzert sollte ursprünglich am 16.02.22 im Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld stattfinden. \n  \nBeziehungen zwischen Brüdern sind speziell. Von Kindesbeinen an schwingt das familiäre Pendel zwischen Wettbewerb\, Bewunderung\, Wut und Liebe hin und her. Das ist auch bei Michael und Stefan Heinrich von KLAN nicht anders. Geprägt von diesem Pendel\, bahnen sich die Brüder zwischen urbanem Puls\, elektronischen Fragmenten\, Indie-Ästhetik und großen Melodien ihren ganz eigenen Weg durch den Pop-Kosmos. Dass sie mit ihren intelligenten\, kritischen und selbstbewussten Texten über Politik\, Gesellschaft und Umwelt zum Zentrum der zeitgenössischen Popkultur gehören\, ist spätestens seit ihrem 2018 veröffentlichten Debütalbum „Wann hast du Zeit?“ sicher. Zeitlich versetzt gab es im  Jahr 2020 zwei Veröffentlichungen von KLAN\, die ganz im Zeichen des Gegensatzes stehen. Das erste veröffentlichte Halbum ist die „Winterseite“ (VÖ: 21.02.20). Der Name bezieht sich nicht nur auf die Jahreszeit\, sondern ist auch als innerer Zustand zu verstehen\, der uns alle betrifft.  \n  \nDas zweite Halbum heißt „Sommerseite“ und verbindet all das\, was die Brüder Michael und Stefan ausmacht (VÖ: 11.09.20). Zwischen großer Pop-Geste und unverbesserlichem Indie-Herz entstanden Songs von Zuversicht\, Liebe und Idealen. Mit spielerischer Selbstsicherheit verknoten KLAN verschiedenste Einflüsse zu einem aufregenden Gesamtwerk\, das ihre ganz eigene Handschrift trägt und mit Leichtigkeit überrascht. In absoluter Do-It-Yourself-Manier werden dabei alle Songs von Stefan auf einem genrefreien Spielplatz produziert\, auf dem sich auch Vocalist Michael austobt. Sowohl  Texte als auch Intonation sind bewusst intensiver und extremer als je zuvor hervorgehoben\, ohne dabei vorlaut zu provozieren. DESCRIPTION:THE ALMOST THREE \nEine musikalische Achterbahnfahrt\, mit Anleihen an die Moves von George Clinton’s P-Funk\, Neil Young\, Jimi Hendrix und natürlich ….dem Blues. The Almost Three veröffentlichten im Januar 2020 das nunmehr fünfte Album „It’s Just Music“. Die dazu angesetzte Tournee konnte aus bekannten Gründen nicht mehr durchgeführt werden. Die drei radikalen Voodoofunkbluesrockverfechter bleiben aber auch weiterhin ihrer Devise treu\, Funk\, Blues und Rock’n’Roll so zu mischen\, dass sowohl bei den eigenen Songs\, wie auch bei den wenigen Coverversionen\, das Resultat auch weiterhin in keine gängige Schublade passt.
