An all-analogue double live album which catpures bands whole spectra from light to shade „Dynamic Root Rock Experience” is still the best term to describe SIENA ROOT’s music. And that is also exactly what the new Double Live Album „Made in Kuba“ is about. This is the follow up to the bands’ previous and highly acclaimed live album „Root Jam“ and in many ways it takes off where „Root Jam“ left off. The live album consists of music from the bands’ entire catalog but none of the songs on this one was featured on the previous live album. This is of course also an all-analogue recording as all the bands recordings, and where many bands would hesitate to bring a full-on tape recorder for a live event it’s totally given for Siena Root to do it in that no compromise fashion. This is a live experience, no overdubs or „studio tricks“, the songs heard is what was played and the energy comes all the way from the stage through the speakers of the listener. The jams are there, the improvisation as well as the whole spectra from light to shade. The live spine of Siena Root is the quartet, consisting of Sam Riffer, Love Forsberg, Zubaida Solid and Johan Borgström and on this special occasion they are joined on stage by long time brother in arm Erik Peterson as well as Lisa Isaksson for a number of songs. To ensure the all-analog quality control, engineer Ove Noring that’s been working with the band all the way since 2006 „Kaleidoscope“ was brought in as tape operator to record the three shows that this album is made up of.

So for your best sonic experience, make sure that you get the vinyl! This is another tradition the band hold dear, as Siena Root swear by the black groove from the beginning of their career. In 2004, their debut album was already released as a double vinyl. The vinyl boom was still in the distant future and back then it was not so easy for a newcomer band to push such a costly release through. To make this one even more special the cut the vinyl at half speed. „Half speed mastering“ is a trick of the past, the old vinyl junkies will know very well what this is about and for the newcomers out there it’s just a very delicate and complicated process of vinyl cutting.
